Formule 1 Hotels / hotelF1

Formule 1With 270 Hotels, HotelF1 / Formule 1 are one of the leading providers of super budget hotels. They are part of the ACCOR Group, the world's largest hotel network, comprising numerous hotel chains including Mercure, Novotel, Ibis and ibis budget. Formule 1 Hotels are currently getting a revamp with new room decorations and new logos etc. The new hotels get a name change to hotelF1 also! This process has been completed in France but in other European countries you will most likely as not find Formule 1 hotels.

Formule 1 hotels are basic but functional, above all they are cheap! Prices start at 29 Euros (02/13) for a room. Our family comprised two adults and two teenage sons, we would book two rooms. We always found the hotels to be clean and the management friendly.

Save 10% by booking 30 days in advance

HotelF1 / Formule 1 hotels are even cheaper if booked 30 days in advance. If you do, you will save 10% on their already cheap rates. ;D-30 promotion.
Students with a valid ISIC Card get an even better deal, with breakfast for only 1 euro.
France has the majority of the hotels, but Formule 1 has a presence throughout Europe, as well as Australia, Japan and South Africa. They have an ambitious building programme and add new hotels to the chain at regular intervals.

Locations are usually on the outskirts of cities and towns and are quite often in industrial estates. You cannot therefore expect a view. The advantage of these locations, is that trips through city and town centres are usually not required when traveling to your hotel. In fact a few hotels are close to Autoroute exits. All hotels have car parking facilities some of them with secured parking. Your room entry code will open the gates after hours.

Access / Payment

Rooms are only accessible via reception which is open from 06:30 to 10:00 (07:30 to 10:30 Sundays and Bank Holidays) and from 17:00 to 22:00. Outside these hours you can telephone a reservation 6:30 to 22:00 (7:00 to 22:00 Sundays). Alternatively you can pay for your room with an automatic booking machine outside the reception using a credit card (Eurocard, Mastercard, CB, Visa, American Express). Entry to your room is by electronic lock using the code number supplied. The same code also opens the main door to Reception.

Rooms are small, but come furnished with a double bed and overhead bunk bed. They have a washbasin, small writing shelf and chair ss well as a remote control colour TV. In France most of the chain has undergone a makeover to hotelF1, with new furnishings, LCD TV's, WiFi (by payment of a subscription) and new logos. The newer hotelF1 hotels also have twin rooms equipped with two single beds. Toilets and showers are located at the end of each corridor.

The toilets and showers have fully automated cleaning cycles so don't leave your towel or anything behind when you exit or they will be soaked!

Breakfast is available in the Reception area or outside if the weather is nice. It comprises an "eat as much as you like" continental breakfast of bread, jams, coffee etc. Breakfast costs 3.70 euros per person (unless you are a student and qualify for the 1 euro deal!).

One pet is allowed in their owner's room, but not in the breakfast area. A charge of 3 euros per night, is levied for a pet.

HotelF1 F1 Hotel

The Formule 1 website includes lots of information on the hotels as well as the virtual room tour mentioned earlier. Location maps for each hotel are provided as well as GPS Co-ordinates and obviously telephone numbers and addresses. Searching for a hotel is possible using maps or by keying in a location. The HotelF1 / Formule 1 Website is well worth a visit. It has everything you could possibly want to know about a Formule 1 Hotel.

Formule 1 does not have a brochure request on its site but  you can pick up a brochure at a hotel. The complete brochure is available on-line as a "virtual brochure", which is a more environmentally friendly option, than mailing out booklets.
